Pension Provision Research
The objective of the research conducted at the Finnish Centre for Pensions is to produce intelligible, useable and widely applicable expert information for the evaluation and development of the pension provision. The Research Department conducts both social and economic research.
Research at the Finnish Centre for Pensions is largely based on multi-faceted register information, questionnaire data and combinations of data. Modelling and other sources of information, such as documents and information on pension schemes in other countries, collected by the Finnish Centre for Pensions, are also used when producing new information.
Research programme
From the beginning of 2010, our research is based on a research programme laid out for the years 2010-2014. Focal areas of research include working careers and retirement, the sustainability of pension financing, and the sufficiency of pension provision
Starting points for research
Research is a statutory assignment of the Finnish Centre for Pensions. The obligation to carry out research is based on the management of data that enables research, as well as practical know-how of pension provision.
