Projections
The Finnish Centre for Pensions produces calculations and projection on the future of the pension system. The time frames and contents of the calculations depend on their purpose of use. The annually published pension expenditure forecast and the short-term projections are carried out to serve the implementation of the earnings-related pension system.
The long-term projections are used to plan and evaluate the pension system. They extend 60–70 years into the future and are published every 2–3 years.
The pension projections are based on an economic indicator compiled for internal use within the earnings-related pension system.
