Joint registers and information system services
In co-operation with Arek Oy and the pension providers, the Finnish Centre for Pensions maintains and develops the joint registers and information system services of the earnings-related pension field. We maintain and develop register services and guide and instruct pension providers. We release data (centrally) of the joint registers to such authorities and institutions handling social security that have a legal right to get the data.
The Finnish Centre for Pensions monitors legal amendments and national and international IT projects. We assess how the amendments affect the joint information systems.
Register descriptions
The joint registers of the earnings-related pension field contain data needed for the implementation of earnings-related pensions. Read the descriptions of the registers’ purpose of use and related services.
Our operations are regulated by laws and decrees
Our task of keeping registers and register services is regulated in the Act on the Finnish Centre for Pensions (Chapter 2, Section 1, subsection 5). The Act stipulates that we are to administer the registers we need to carry out our statutory tasks and to ensure that the data that pension providers need to carry out their tasks (as stipulated in the earnings-related pension acts) is available.
When we handle personal data, we act as a registrar as referred to in EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and are governed by obligations of registrars as stipulated in data protection acts.
