VARMA: Improved work capacity outlook for Finns

Income Mobility, Income Risk and Age: Finnish Experiences in 1995-2008

In the survey (Finnish Centre for Pensions, Working Papers 02/2012), Finnish income mobility and income risk have been examined using extensive register-based Finnish income panel data with detailed information on the composition of income over a 14-year period, from 1995 to 2008. Mobility in disposable income is decreasing with age, with a further drop near retirement age. The results suggest that the distribution of lifetime income has widened.

Earnings-related Pension in 20X0 – Who Collects the Pot?

Those making decisions regarding pension issues should know what young adults think about working careers, pensions and related intergenerational equity. The Finnish Centre for Pensions, The Finnish Pension Alliance TELA and the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) have invited a versatile group of local active students, young self-employed and social opinion leaders to participate in panel discussions arranged in Tampere, Jyväskylä, Turku and Helsinki. The panels are chaired by Riitta Väkeväinen, Information Officer, and Mikko Kautto, Head of the Research Department, of the Finnish Centre for Pensions.
