Data for pension provision

Almost all private-sector and public-sector pension providers maintain the register data on pension accrual in the joint accrual and earnings register of the earnings-related pension scheme. The Finnish Centre for Pensions is the controller e.g. as regards data on self-employed persons covered by the Self-Employed Persons' Pensions Act (YEL) and the Farmers' Pensions Act (MYEL), TEL (Employees' Pensions Act) and TyEL (Employees Pensions Act) data for the employees insured with certain company pension funds and industry-wide pension funds, as well as pensionable unpaid periods. In this section you will find the Finnish Centre for Pensions' official specifications of files including short descriptions.

The personal data file is a source for personal and address data. The employer and insurance register contains data on earnings-related pension insurance policies. The application register contains information on pending and decided applications for the earnings-related pension. Correspondingly, the pensions register includes information on decisions on earnings-related pensions and rehabilitation allowance.

The register material has mainly been saved in separate databases. The data and material may be processed manually only by those to whom the task is specifically assigned. Using the registers always requires a personal user name. The registers are stored in safe and guarded vaults.
